Olympic Games: with 2 gold medals and 1 bronze, Algeria equals its historic record from Atlanta-1996
The Algerian delegation taking part in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games returned to Algiers on Monday, where it was welcomed at Houari Boumediene airport by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Abderrahmane Hammad, accompanied by civil and military officials.
As a reminder, the precious metal charms were the work of Kaylia Nemour in the uneven bars (gymnastics) and Imane Khelif in women's boxing (66 kg), and the bronze medal of Djamel Sedjati in the 800 meters, the first sporting success of this kind since Atlanta (United States) in 1996.
Algeria participated in the Paris Olympics with a delegation composed of 46 athletes (27 men and 19 women), in 15 different disciplines.
