The General of the Army also wanted to underline "the excellence of the long-standing relations which unite the two countries and which date back to the glorious Revolution of November 1, 1954", adding that the People's Republic of China was "among the first country to support the struggle of the Algerian people for their right to self-determination during the Bandung Conference in 1955, and the first non-Arab country to recognize the Provisional Government of the Algerian Republic, upon the announcement of its creation on September 19 1958".
The Army General further affirmed that "the solid ties that unite Algeria and China are reflected in all the honorable and common positions between the two countries."
"In view of these distinguished relationships, based on common militant solidarity in favor of sovereignty and independence of decision and for the recovery of sovereign rights, the fight for justice and freedom are, as such, always d current events, particularly in the shadow of a world which is moving more towards an unprecedented multipolarity and towards a new global distribution of power, far from hegemonic orientations based on exclusion, on attempts to impose agendas and on the weakening of the political choices of States,” he said.
These talks also constituted an opportunity for the two parties to "exchange points of view on issues of common interest and examine means to consolidate military and security cooperation between the two countries", concludes the MDN press release.
