Convergence of the positions of Algeria and the Sultanate of Oman concerning major issues linked to the Arab World

 
 
 

ALGIERS - Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, highlighted, Wednesday, the convergence of the positions of Algeria and the Sultanate of Oman on major issues inherent to the Arab World, led by the Palestinian cause, welcoming the success of economic cooperation between the two countries.

In his speech at the opening of the work of the 8th session of the Algerian-Omani Joint Commission in Algiers, Mr. Attaf welcomed "the promising and beneficial dynamic that Algerian-Omani relations have experienced in recent times, which bodes well for beautiful prospects that we wish to explore in the best possible way, in the service of our bilateral relations and the causes of our Arab-Muslim Nation."

"Thanks to this dynamic, we are meeting today on the occasion of the holding of the 8th Joint Commission, with a common roadmap with clear outlines, targeted content and well-defined purposes, in concert between the leaders of our two brother countries, the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and his brother, His Majesty Sultan Haïtham bin Tariq Al-Said", specified Mr. Attaf, adding that "our will is common and our objective is the same, namely raising Algerian-Omani relations, in all their dimensions, political, economic, social and cultural, to the highest possible levels and the most desired ranks.

In this sense, the minister welcomed the "exceptional level reached by the traditions of political consultation and coordination between our two brother countries, at different levels and on all levels."

Mr. Attaf also welcomed, "the convergence of the harmonious positions of the two countries concerning the major issues inherent to our Arab region, at the head of which is the Palestinian cause that Algeria and the Sultan of Oman have always supported and defended, particularly in this difficult ordeal that our brothers in Gaza are going through, due to the Zionist aggression which still continues.

“This convergence and cohesion are not foreign to our two countries which, steeped in the principles of international law, reject the policies of axes and alliances, and always work to contribute to the resolution of conflicts and disagreements, by promoting solutions political and peaceful,” he continued.

Furthermore, Mr. Attaf welcomed the success of economic cooperation between the two countries, in particular the exemplary partnership in the field of fertilizer production, a partnership that the two countries intend to strengthen and expand to other areas. , like renewable energies (EnR), Saharan agriculture, the pharmaceutical industry, mining resources, and many other areas listed as priorities of the two countries.

He welcomed, in this context, the meeting which brought together a delegation of major Omani investors and their Algerian counterparts, on the eve of the holding of the Joint Commission, encouraging them to “seize all promising opportunities, with a view to strengthening cooperation constructive and consolidate the fruitful partnership between our two countries", emphasizing its availability to "provide all the necessary support, capable of increasing the volume of bilateral investments and doubling the value of trade".

Also, Mr. Attaf expressed his thanks to "senior officials for the efforts made, during their meeting on Tuesday, for the development of legal texts in their final version in order to sign them at the end of today's work" .

"Whether it is executive programs and memorandums of understanding to be signed today, or draft conventions to be examined within the framework of consultations to finalize them before the next bilateral deadlines, I think that we have taken steps big steps towards enriching the bilateral legal framework and strengthening its bases and components,” he continued.

For his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud al Busaidi, indicated that this meeting testified to "the depth of the values ​​of brotherhood anchored between the two countries and peoples", welcoming "the relations centuries-old relations between the two countries, to which His Majesty Sultan Haïtham Bin Tariq and his brother the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, devote great importance, relations based on immutable respect, a constant approach and a thorough and thoughtful understanding of the role that falls to us, towards our Arab nation and our geographical environment, through our relations and our common cooperation.

And to add that "this session comes as an extension of the cooperation process established between the two countries and of prospects favorable to the renewal of the common vision for a future rich in partnerships in the sectors of economy, industry, investment, food security and renewable energy.

Finally, the Omani minister praised the resistance of the Palestinian people, victims of genocide, expressing his "great consideration for the efforts led by Algeria and its constant efforts within the Security Council" to stop the aggression. Zionist and the delivery of aid to the Gaza Strip.
