The signing ceremony took place under the supervision of the Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Sid Ali Zerrouki, and the Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, responsible for the National Community Abroad, Sofiane Chaib.
The agreement provides for the launch of a new innovative service for the transfer and dispatch of documents to be certified at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in order to ensure secure and organized handling of documents submitted by citizens to Algeria Post offices, while guaranteeing traceability during all stages of processing, from submission to dispatch to the Ministry's civil status offices, and their delivery to their holders, after the completion of certification procedures. This service is carried out according to an efficient and reliable logistics process, in accordance with current administrative standards.
Mr. Zerrouki explained that this approach "is part of the global vision adopted by the Post and Telecommunications sector to develop postal services, by modernizing the Algeria Post company, diversifying its offers, developing value-added services and strengthening electronic payment and e-commerce, in accordance with the overall national dynamic of digital transformation underway in Algeria."
The minister also stressed that this agreement "constitutes a practical model of institutional integration and aims to facilitate administrative procedures and save time and effort for our citizens."
For his part, Mr. Chaib affirmed that the simplification of administrative procedures and the facilitation of various consular services "are at the heart of the priorities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is working to strengthen the many achievements made in recent years in this area, in accordance with the instructions of the country's senior authorities."
"The certification service we are launching today will facilitate one of the most important administrative services provided by the ministry's central administration. Indeed, the department responsible for certifying documents to be used abroad is one of the few central structures, if not the only one, to record a significant influx of users, sometimes reaching more than 3,000 citizens per day, particularly during peak periods," he said.
He continued: "The implementation of the service for submitting and withdrawing legalized documents via Algeria Post offices, located throughout the country, will allow users of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' certification service to complete their consular procedures without having to travel to the central administration. They will thus be able to submit the documents to be certified at the nearest post office, which will be responsible for transmitting them to the ministry for processing, before delivery as soon as possible, while offering the possibility of monitoring the progress of the procedure via the technological means dedicated to this purpose."
He stressed that this measure was part of the State Secretariat's action plan aimed at simplifying and modernizing the system of administrative and consular services, in order to meet citizens' expectations and adapt the services offered, based on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' commitment to continue improving the quality of services provided and ensuring greater comfort for citizens, whether they reside inside or outside the country.
The agreement was signed by the Director General of Resources at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Cherif Kourta, and the Acting Director General of Algeria Post, Mohamed Tazir.
