On this occasion, the Secretary General of ANOCA, Mr. Ahmed Abou Elgasim, declared that this distinction had been awarded in recognition of "the particular attention paid by the President of the Republic to youth and sport and in consideration of his commitment to Algeria's contribution to the development of Africa and the development of its young people and athletes, both at the national level and in international and regional forums and gatherings."
During this meeting, the President of the Republic announced that Algeria will host the African School Games on July 25, expressing the hope that these games will be organized regularly in all African countries, in order to make them a tradition capable of strengthening unity among African children and training a new generation of African athletes.
ANOCA President Mustapha Berraf said that the awarding of this medal to the President of the Republic "testifies to his efforts and his growing interest in youth in Algeria and Africa," wishing Algeria and Africa greater success in the sporting field.
For his part, the Nigerian Minister of Sports and Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Mr. Shehu Dikko, conveyed the greetings of his country's President to the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, expressing his satisfaction with the wise advice given to them by the President of the Republic during this ceremony.
He also welcomed the laudable initiative of the President of the Republic to organize these games, with the aim of promoting African sport and raising its level in the continent.
The awards ceremony was attended by the Director of Cabinet at the Presidency of the Republic, Mr. Boualem Boualem, the Minister of Sports, Mr. Walid Sadi, and the President of the Algerian Olympic and Sports Committee (COA), Mr. Abderrahmane Hammad.
