On the occasion of the International Day of the Arabic Language, December 18th, 2024, the Algerian Embassy in Moscow celebrated this event, on December 14th, 2024, with the participation of members of the Algerian community established in the Russian Federation, the Embassy staff and their children.
A group of Russian high school girls who are continuing their studies at high school specializing in the field of "tourism and hospitality", accompanied by a supervising teacher, also took part in the celebration.
These young high school girls are learning the Arabic language as part of their training, which is part of a federal program entitled "Professionality".
After a welcome speech by the Algerian Ambassador to Moscow, the young Russians recited short texts in Arabic.
Subsequently, children of the Algerian community of all ages also presented texts in Arabic (songs, poems, prose) individually or in groups.
Some of them exhibited their drawings that express their attachment to the Arabic language and that illustrate the importance of this language and its richness.
The Ambassador concluded the ceremony by thanking all the participants to whom he gave symbolic gifts. In addition, the Russian high school girls and their supervisor received honorary certificates signed by the Ambassador in recognition of their participation.
The school girls expressed their great satisfaction at having been invited to this ceremony, promised to make more efforts to improve their level in Arabic and expressed the wish to be invited to similar events.
