The agenda of this session, which is being held in anticipation of the AU Summit, scheduled for February 15 and 16, 2025, includes "many important files and issues related to joint African action, including the examination of the annual reports of the activities of the continental organization and its various organs, the election of members of the AU Peace and Security Council, the election of six AU commissioners, the completion of the legal framework of the African Continental Free Trade Area, and the adoption of the statutes of the African mechanism for disaster preparedness and response," according to the statement.
