This meeting, which took place in the presence of the Algerian ambassador to the State of Qatar, Mr. Salah Attia, comes in the wake of "continuous steps taken by the Algerian State, on the instruction of the highest authorities of the country, in order to strengthen direct and regular communication with members of the national community abroad and to listen to their concerns and expectations, in order to contribute to strengthening the ties which unite them with their motherland and to strengthen their contribution to the various development processes".
In his address on this occasion, "the Secretary of State praised the privileged position occupied by the Algerian community established in Qatar, which has experienced a notable presence and growth in recent years, and now includes a considerable number of Algerian skills and expertise active in various fields and high-quality specialties."
Mr. Chaib stated that the personnel and skills in various fields available to the national community in Qatar, as well as the professional and scientific successes it achieves, are a source of pride, capable of reflecting the positive image of Algeria, contributing to strengthening its position and influence internationally, and proving the ability of its children to excel and innovate wherever they are," the statement specifies.
He also praised "the important role of the national community in strengthening the bonds of fraternity and cooperation between Algeria and the State of Qatar, a brotherly country, through their professional, scientific and academic contributions, and their participation in strengthening the bridges of communication and rapprochement between the two countries, in synergy with the dynamic marking the Algerian-Qatari relations which are clearly developing in various fields".
On this occasion, Mr. Chaib reviewed "the various provisions and measures undertaken by the State for the benefit of the national community abroad, particularly with regard to the modernization of the consular structure, the strengthening of the digitization of consular services, the simplification of administrative procedures and the improvement of the conditions for addressing the concerns of citizens established abroad, in addition to initiatives aimed at strengthening the link between the rising generations and their motherland and instilling in them the foundations of national identity," according to the same source.
The meeting "was an opportunity to conduct an interactive and fruitful dialogue with members of the national community, addressing several concerns and listening to their proposals and visions regarding various issues of interest to them, with the objective of ensuring appropriate care for their situation and better meeting their aspirations," the document states.
At the end of the meeting, "the Secretary of State praised the contributions of our national community established in this brotherly country in service to their homeland, as well as its role in strengthening Algeria's presence and influence," reaffirming "the commitment of the Algerian State to continue supporting its skilled individuals abroad and to value their contributions to supporting the national development process and strengthening their ties with their homeland."
Prior to this meeting, Mr. Chaib had conducted an inspection visit to the headquarters that will house the Algerian Cultural Centre in Doha, whose official inauguration is planned in the coming months, following the promulgation of Presidential Decree 26-02 of January 7, 2026 establishing an Algerian Cultural Centre in the State of Qatar.
This visit allowed him, the statement adds, "to become familiar with the various infrastructures and equipment available at the headquarters, as well as the arrangements made in anticipation of the launch of activities at this important cultural building which will constitute a new space dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of Algerian culture as well as to the enhancement of its rich civilizational and cultural heritage in all its diversity.
The Centre also aims to be a unifying space for members of the national community established in Qatar, thus contributing to strengthening their ties with their country and promoting cultural and communication activities intended for them, the statement specifies.
