Death of former 9th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia: Magramane signs the condolence book

ALGIERS - The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Mr. Lounès Magramane, signed, Monday at the headquarters of the Indonesian Embassy in Algiers, the book of condolences following the death of Hamzah Haz, former 9th Vice-President of the Republic of Indonesia, a brother country.

"It is with great sadness and deep sorrow that we learned of the passing away of the former 9th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, a brother country, Hamzah Haz," Mr Magramane wrote in the condolence book.

"With the passing of Hamzah Haz, the Republic of Indonesia has lost an exceptional personality who greatly marked the political scene of this brother country, particularly between 2001 and 2004, a period during which he was vice-president," said Mr. Magramane, recalling that before occupying this position, the deceased "had a remarkable activity within the United Development Party (PPP), where he left his mark on the development of policies and the definition of political orientations from the time of President Suharto until the beginning of the 2000s."

"In reiterating our condolences, we assure you of Algeria's support and solidarity with the brotherly Indonesian government and people," added Mr. Magramane.
