During this audience, "the Minister of State handed over to the Lebanese President a letter from the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune. He also conveyed his fraternal greetings and renewed his congratulations on the occasion of his election as President of the Lebanese Republic, as well as his wishes for full success in the accomplishment of his high functions," the statement said.
In this regard, "the Minister of State congratulated, on behalf of the President of the Republic, the Lebanese President for the completion of the procedures related to the formation of the new Lebanese government, reaffirming Algeria's full support and solidarity with brotherly Lebanon, in its efforts to initiate a new era, based on the completion of institutional construction and the establishment of the foundations of peace, security and economic development."
The meeting allowed, according to the same source, "to examine the state of relations of fraternity, solidarity and cooperation between the two brotherly countries, as well as the prospects for their promotion to higher levels, particularly in the economic fields. Algeria also reaffirmed its willingness to continue to defend Lebanon within the framework of its role as an Arab member within the UN Security Council."
The two parties also discussed "the latest developments at the regional level, particularly the Palestinian question, stressing the continuation of their joint coordination in anticipation of the next Arab events," the statement concluded.
