Press release from the Council of Ministers

"The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, chaired today a meeting of the Council of Ministers, devoted to presentations relating in particular to the areas of operation of the national portal of digital services, the monitoring of the implementation of the cooperation agreements concluded with the two brotherly countries, Niger and Chad, the development of the start-up ecosystem, as well as a presentation on the tourist season," the statement reads.

Regarding the operational areas of the National Digital Services Portal:
    - The President of the Republic has set a maximum deadline of one month for achieving full intersectoral interconnection, thereby facilitating the use of digital services for the benefit of citizens.
    - The President of the Republic emphasized the need to redouble efforts to accelerate the development of digital services, particularly in light of the strong interest and success recorded since the commissioning of the National Data Center.

Regarding the monitoring of the implementation of bilateral cooperation agreements concluded with the two brotherly countries of Niger and Chad:

   The President of the Republic emphasized the paramount importance Algeria attaches to the development of the various agreed-upon projects as quickly as possible, particularly in the area of ​​electricity production for the benefit of the citizens of both brotherly countries. The
    President further explained that this commitment stems from a shared desire for cooperation to establish a solid economic foundation, capable of fostering strong development and genuine investment, in the best interests of Algeria, Niger, Chad, and the entire region, following an integrated vision.
    The President instructed the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, to oversee a sectoral commission tasked with monitoring, on the ground, the progress of the implementation of the various cooperation projects agreed upon with the two brotherly countries, within the established timeframes.

Regarding the presentation on the tourist allowance:

   - Given the serious overspending which has resulted in a hemorrhage of foreign currency without the persons concerned benefiting from the tourist allowance, it has been decided, on a provisional basis, that this allowance will be paid via bank card, and no longer in cash, in order to put an end to the observed overspending.

Regarding the presentation on the development of the startup ecosystem:

    The President of the Republic commended all the initiatives undertaken by Algeria in the field of startups, which have allowed the Algerian experience to establish itself as a pioneering and credible model, generating increasing interest from African countries. 
    The President ordered continued support for the positive momentum and successes achieved in this area, working in the future to involve the private sector in financing startup projects, particularly in the most sought-after sectors. The
    President emphasized that the Algerian model for creating and developing startups is currently attracting African and international interest, as it generates economic dynamism and preserves the effective sovereignty of our youth and their businesses.

Regarding the tourist season:
    - The President of the Republic has tasked the Minister of Tourism with developing a comprehensive and effective action plan for the development of Algerian tourism and the promotion of domestic tourism for the 
benefit of Algerian families, particularly coastal tourism. This plan will emphasize training and specialization in the tourism sector, whether coastal, mountain, or Saharan, especially given that Algeria has implemented numerous facilitations in recent years, including the possibility of obtaining a visa directly upon arrival at airports in the south of the country, without any obstacles.
    - The President of the Republic further stressed the need to fully exploit the tourism potential of our country through coordination and cooperation, thereby promoting 
the image of Algeria's diverse and rich civilizational and cultural heritage.
    - The President of the Republic also instructed the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as the Ministers of the Interior and Sports, to prepare the signing of a twinning agreement between the cities of Tipaza and Kansas City (United States), in recognition of the warm welcome given to the official delegation and Algerian supporters during the 2026 World Cup, and in consideration of the importance of Algerian-American relations.
