
Mr. Sofiane Chaib, Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, responsible for the National Community Abroad, today supervised, via videoconference, the opening of the meeting organized by the Algerian Embassy in Berlin for the benefit of presidents and representatives of Algerian associations active in the Federal Republic of Germany, in the presence of the Algerian Ambassador to Berlin and the Algerian Consul General in Frankfurt.
In his speech on this occasion, the Secretary of State emphasized the special attention given by the country's high authorities to members of the national community abroad, as well as their commitment to strengthen communication and consultation mechanisms with them and to support the various initiatives they launch in the service of national interests.
He also praised the dynamism of the Algerian associative fabric in Germany and its active contribution to strengthening solidarity ties among community members, preserving their attachment to their homeland, as well as its role in promoting Algeria's positive image and enhancing its presence in the host country.
In this context, he reviewed the efforts made to implement the recommendations arising from the consular seminar held in February 2026, particularly those relating to encouraging and framing associative work and supporting active associations with tangible impact for the benefit of community members.
The Secretary of State also emphasized the importance of the national community's contribution in Germany to strengthening friendship and cooperation relations between Algeria and Germany. He reaffirmed the commitment to ensure the necessary follow-up of the outcomes of this meeting, in coordination with the Algerian Embassy in Berlin and the Consulate General in Frankfurt, in order to help respond to the concerns of community members and enhance their role as a key partner in strengthening human, cultural and economic ties between the two countries.
