On the first day of this visit, the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, had face-to-face meetings with the President of the Sovereignty Council of the Republic of Sudan, subsequently extended to delegations from the two countries. at the headquarters of the Presidency of the Republic.
In a joint statement to the press following their talks, President Tebboune reaffirmed "Algeria's support for Sudan to overcome the difficult situation and confront the evil forces that target it", welcoming at the same time "the centuries-old relations" which unite the two brotherly countries.
President Tebboune welcomed the position of Sudan, "which supports Algeria in its capacity as a member of the UN Security Council", emphasizing, in this sense, "the convergence of views between the two countries around numerous issues regional and international.
He affirmed, on the other hand, that "Algeria has always favored and favored the resolution of conflicts through a purely internal approach, far from any form of foreign interference", stressing that "the last word goes to the Sudanese people with all its components.
For his part, the president of the Sovereignty Council of the Republic of Sudan affirmed that his country was facing "a conspiracy hatched in connivance with regional and international parties", saying, moreover, in favor of "the presence of the 'Algeria at any Arab or African dialogue or debate table'.
He also praised "the positions of President Tebboune and the Algerian people imbued with nationalism and who support just causes."
Algeria "has always supported Sudan" and the Algerian people "are known for their nationalism and their defense of just causes", added General al-Burhan who noted "the convergence of views with Algeria on numerous questions of the day."
During his stay, the President of the Sovereignty Council of the Republic of Sudan visited Djamaâ El-Djazaïr where he was welcomed by the Rector of this mosque, Sheikh Mohamed Maamoun Al Kassimi Al-Hassani, before signing the Guest Book .
He declared, on the sidelines of his visit to this great religious and cultural building, that "the Algerian people demonstrate, daily to the whole world, their concern to preserve Arab-Muslim and African unity", saluting the depth of relations “strong and stable” between Algeria and Sudan.
The President of the Sovereignty Council of the Republic of Sudan also visited, accompanied by the Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Mr. Tayeb Zitouni, the National Mujahid Museum where he received detailed explanations on the different stages histories of Algeria and its War of National Liberation.
He also prayed at the Martyrs' Sanctuary (Algiers), in memory of the martyrs of the glorious War of National Liberation.
