On July 30, 2025, Chairman of the Russian-Algerian Business Council, Mr. Ahmed Azimov, held a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to the Russian Federation, H.E. Mr. Toufik Djouama.
The discussion focused on key areas of bilateral trade and economic cooperation. The Ambassador highlighted the strong political ties between Algeria and Russia, while noting that the current level of economic interaction does not yet reflect the full potential of the relationship. He stated that, in line with the directives of the Algerian leadership, he is committed to intensifying economic ties with Russia and expressed a firm determination to achieve practical and mutually beneficial results.
Ambassador Djouama also emphasized the important role of the Russian-Algerian Business Council as a platform for advancing joint initiatives and assured his full support for its activities.
Both sides reaffirmed their intention to maintain regular dialogue and jointly promote initiatives aimed at strengthening business ties between the two countries.
