This emergency meeting is "dedicated to examining the latest developments related to the continued Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, in light of the serious and unprecedented developments in the Palestinian question and the humanitarian crisis facing the Palestinian people," the statement said.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Magramane called for "the intensification of international efforts to end the Israeli aggression, by demanding an immediate and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and by forcing the occupier to lift the restrictions hindering the delivery of humanitarian aid."
He also called for "protecting the two-state solution through the recognition of the independent State of Palestine" and "relaunching the political process, by involving the international community in the development and implementation of a serious and credible initiative capable of guaranteeing a just settlement allowing the Palestinian people to establish their independent and sovereign State on the borders of June 4, 1967, with Al-Quds as its capital."
The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also stressed the need to hold the occupier accountable for "the genocide and war crimes and crimes against humanity committed against the Palestinian people," calling for "an end to the desperate attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause through forced displacement and changing the legal and historical status of Al-Quds."
Mr. Magramane concluded his remarks by reiterating "Algeria's commitment, under the enlightened leadership of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to spare no effort to continue to defend the Palestinian cause," highlighting the "diplomatic efforts that Algeria continues to deploy in favor of this just cause, particularly since its accession to the United Nations Security Council."
